Tom has more than 20 years of experience in the floral industry and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in art and interior design and a Master's degree in education. He is a member of the Ohio Florists' Association, the California Cut Flower Commission Outreach Team, and Teleflora Education Specialists Team. In 1995 and 2002 he was featured designer for the AIFD National Symposium. He has also served as stage manager for symposiums in Palm Desert, California and Dallas, Texas. His designs have been featured in national trade publications, and he has designed for American Airlines, American Express and former President Bill Clinton's inauguration.

 This beautiful urn
arrangement showcases an armature enclosure
of willow and ti leaves surrounding a bunch of alstromeria supported by
a moss foral ring.

 Including the unexpected, this design features an oversized bird's nest generating excitement and a very strong focal area. Flowers placed around the nest in a repeated style reinforce the focal area. The overall size of this showpiece and clean lines of the design also add a great deal of perceived value.  Another way to increase perceived value is to focus on one flower and use it in abundance. This topiary of alstromeria with a scotchbroom arch and tree fern collar is a great example of this concept.
