The Ohio State Florist Association
was formed in 1929, when graduates of The Ohio State University decided
to meet each year to discuss and share current issues and technology.
The group merged with the Ohio Flower Growers and became the Ohio
Flower Growers' and Retailers Association, chartered in 1931. In
October 1937, the name was changed to the Ohio Flower Growers'
Association. By February 1938, the name was changed to the Ohio
Florists' Association. In 2002, the association was re-branded to OFA –
an Association of Floriculture Professionals.
Industry segments served include:
greenhouses, nurseries, retail and wholesale florists, garden centers,
and interior plantscape.
